Even before the release of Commando starring Vidyut Jammwal, Pooja Chopra and Jaideep Ahlawat, producers Vipul Amrutlal Shah and Reliance Entertainment decided to go ahead with at least three Commando film series. As the first installment of the film series Commando completes 8 years of release today, Vipul Shah expressed his happiness in making the fourth installment of the successful franchise. The makers are very excited about Commando 4 starring Vidyut Jammwal.

Vipul Shah shared his nostalgia about working on Commando, “When I saw Vidyut’s first audition tape, we were looking for a villain for the film Force. It was only after watching the tapes, I decided that we would cast him as the villain in Force, but we would actually make him an action hero because he is incredibly talented. And it’s been a wonderful journey ever since. Shooting Commando was a huge challenge as we wanted to make an action film and action films always require a budget. We wanted to shoot in the jungles of Himachal Pradesh.

It was a difficult task to execute this film. Before joining Reliance as a partner, I had worked on the film for almost a year and we had decided at that time that we will go ahead with at least 3 Commando films and I am happy that now we are ready for the fourth one. Going forward together so the goal is well achieved. Two people from Reliance were very important in this whole process – Preeti Sahani and Shibasish Sarkar who made it possible. It was a good team effort between all of us and we are glad that we are talking about Commando 4 and taking the franchise to a whole new level.”

“Also, the film featured Jaideep Ahlawat as an interesting villain who we have seen some great performances in the recent past. He became such a dangerous antagonist for Vidyut that they both brought the screen alive and not only this, the film featured debutante Pooja Chopra and the music was given by director Mannan Shah. At the same time, one of the key elements of the film that gave it the necessary look was my DOP – Sejal Shah. I give him a huge credit for the way the film looks and the scale the film has achieved. So overall we had a great team and a strong environment in which we shot the film. It was really challenging but a lot of fun and that reflects on screen as well.” Producer shared.

Vipul Shah is currently working on two ambitious and contrasting projects – a medical thriller titled Human (web show) and Sanak (film), while Human is an emotional drama about human drug testing. Aur Sunak is an intense, emotional, action film.
