The remake of Satte Pe Satta was a never-ending dream for Farah Khan, the film was shelved due to lack of a hero.

Farah Khan wanted to make a remake of filmmaker Raj N Sippy’s multi-starrer film Satte Pe Satta starring Amitabh Bachchan, but her wish did not materialise. Farah Khan could not even get a leading hero for this film. At first Farah Khan approached Hrithik Roshan for this film who neither said yes nor said no. Hrithik Roshan did not respond for several months and then finally refused to do the film. Because once again Hrithik did not want to do the remake of Amitabh Bachchan’s film. Earlier, Hrithik had done a remake of Amitabh’s film Agneepath which proved to be a super hit.

Farah Khan’s film got canned even before it started

After this Farah also approached Akshay Kumar. Not only this, he had also approached his Om Shanti Om actor Shah Rukh Khan for this film but he politely refused to do it. Finally this Farah film got canned before it even started. Satte Pe Satta remake has now become a mere dream for them.

Apart from this, another source told us that due to the new – copyright issue it is very difficult for anyone to remake without taking proper permission. In 1982, Raj Sippy made an unofficial remake of Stanley Donen’s Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. But now the copyright issue has become very harsh. It would be difficult to remake Satte Pe Satta without the relevant legal permission.” The source told
