Taapsee Pannu joined the noble cause
Taking a very valid issue, Taapsee said, “If you educate a man you are educating a man, but if you educate a woman you educate the whole nation. We have to ensure that no young woman is deprived of education. Little Kali is very close to my heart and I request my fans to come forward and donate to the best of their ability to educate these underprivileged girls. This Christmas let’s pray for the successful future of these girls.”
This campaign will start from 7th December and will end on 21st December. The Fankind fund raising platform gives a chance for fans to connect with their favorite celebrities through uniquely curated experiences, thereby helping to raise funds for various charities across India.
About little bud:
Project Nanhi Kali, which translates to ‘A Little Bud’, was started in 1996 by Anand Mahindra, Chairman of Mahindra Group, with the aim of educating India’s underprivileged girls. This project supports girls from low birth families to complete 10 years of formal schooling. India already has a poor sex ratio of 914 girls for every 1000 boys and poor female literacy rates in urban and rural areas at 65% and 46% respectively. The project currently supports 153,999 girls in 10 states of India including Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
