Sridevi’s sarees to be auctioned to rejoice 10 years of English Vinglish; Writer and director Gauri Shinde made a particular announcement

Along with being a memorable watch, one of many first movies to ship an important story, relatability and social message was English Vinglish which got here in 2012. One of probably the most iconic Sridevi characters, Shashi Godbole reminded us of our personal moms. A movie that made us snigger and cry, English Vinglish is celebrating its 10 years this 12 months. To rejoice this momentous event, author and director Gauri Shinde held a panel dialogue with the solid and crew of the movie.

The movie’s producer R Balki, producer and director Boney Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor, Shreya Dhanwantri, Saiyami Kher and the solid and crew of the movie – Navika Kotia, Shivansh Kotia, dir, director Gauri Shinde, lyricist Swanand Kirkire, Rajeev Ravindranathan, cinematographer had been current on the event. Laxman Utekar and lyricist-screenwriter Kausar Munir had been current.

Writer and director Gauri Shinde shared, “Making English Vinglish was one of the best things that happened to me. Getting a chance to work with Sridevi, who was resting at that time, was a miracle in itself. His presence was most prominent even beyond the lens of the camera. His not being here is the saddest thing even today. But it’s nice to be here with the rest of the cast and crew, talking about them and our memories of the film.”

Gauri added, “After the panel discussion ended with the announcement that Sridevi’s iconic sarees will be auctioned and the proceeds from the auction will go towards the education of young women. I always wanted to do a fashion show where Sridevi walks the ramp wearing her saree. Sridevi also wanted the same. Sadly this is no longer possible so this auction is important and very special to me.”
