Shefali Shah’s first directorial film Someday

Someday is the story of two women, united by an umbilical cord and separated by a door. Vidhi, a frontline warrior, is stuck in today’s medical condition. After 15 days on duty, she comes home for a 7-day quarantine. But, can it be called home, where there is only one distance between him and his mother, who is slowly turning herself into a relic due to Alzheimer’s. They talk about the past and the future, with no trace of the present. Some are real, some are imaginary. Whatever was between them, what may not be, and what may someday happen, all these are related to their relationship.

Known as one of the largest Indian film festivals in Europe, the 18th Indian Film Festival of Stuttgart is scheduled from 21 to 25 July 2021, offering mainstream Hindi productions as well as Indian art houses in various genres including documentaries, animation and short films. A wide selection of films will be made. Additionally, the organizers of the festival have a keen interest in making newcomer films available to a wider audience. Due to COVID-19, the Film Festival of India 2021 will again go online and provide a virtual festive experience for the audience. Apart from an online opening and award ceremony, along with online screening of films, Q&A and film talks will also be organized as an auxiliary programme.

Shefali Shah said, “I cannot describe how excited I am with the news of the release of ‘Someday’ at the 18th Indian Film Festival of Stuttgart, which has made its worldwide reach. It is a great honour. It was a conscious decision to send ‘Someday’ to film festivals around the world to see where I stand as a newcomer in the field of directing and the fact that it has been selected at a prestigious festival is such a great reassurance. Is .”
