Veteran Hindi cinema actor Dilip Kumar passed away this morning on 7 July. Actor Dilip Kumar, 98, was ailing for a long time. He breathed his last today at 7.30 am at Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai. Dilip Kumar was admitted to the hospital due to difficulty in breathing. Dilip Kumar’s wife Saira Banu, who was like a shadow with him till his last breath, is devastated by the actor’s demise. Dilip Kumar will be handed over with state honors at 5 pm today.
Saira Banu cried seeing Shahrukh Khan
The body of Dilip Kumar has reached his house and many big personalities are reaching his house to have the last glimpse of the actor. In this, many people including Shahrukh Khan, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and his son Aditya Thackeray reached Dilip Kumar’s house to give his last farewell. Shahrukh Khan, who considered Dilip Kumar as his guru, reached Dilip Kumar’s house to pay his last respects.
Saira Banu, who considered Shahrukh her son, could not hold back her tears on seeing Shahrukh and wept bitterly seeing Shahrukh. Then Shahrukh supported Saira Banu and wiped her tears. Some pictures of this period have surfaced on social media, in which Shahrukh is seen consoling Saira Banu and silencing her.
Let us tell you that Dilip Kumar used to treat Shahrukh as his son. Saira herself used to say that if she has a son, she should be like Shahrukh. Shahrukh Khan himself has also been very close to Dilip Kumar and he always used to take care of him.
Apart from Shahrukh, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray also reached Dilip Kumar’s house with his son Aditya Thackeray to pay his last respects. After reaching here, Uddhav Thackeray consoled Saira Banu.

Dilip Kumar was such a personality that makes him different from many other actors. He was awarded with many excellent awards. After giving many successful films, he also took a break of five years in 1976. Then he made a comeback from the film Kranti and after that he left his acting mark once in films like Shakti, Masal, Karma, Saudagar. His last film was Qila.
Dilip Kumar did close to 60 films in a career spanning nearly five decades. Born on December 11, 1922 in Peshawar (now in Pakistan), British India, Dilip Kumar’s real name was Mohammad Yusuf Khan. Raj Kapoor became his friend in his childhood and from here his journey in Bollywood started. Dilip Kumar married Saira Banu, who was also an actress in the year 1966. Saira Banu was 22 years younger than Dilip Kumar. Dilip Kumar’s association with Saira Banu remained till his last breath.
Dilip Kumar’s real name was Mohammad Yusuf Khan. He played Jwar Bhata (1944), Andaz (1949), Aan (1952), Devdas (1955), Azad (1955), Mughal-e-Azam (1960), Ganga Jamuna (1961), Kranti (1981), Karma (1986). He has worked in more than 50 Bollywood films including Saudagar (1991). He was also called the Tragedy King of Bollywood.
