Jagan Shakti to direct Akshay Kumar’s Mission Lion

Jagan Shakti, who made his directorial debut with Mission Mangal, which grossed around Rs 200 crore at the box office, is charging a hefty fee for his second film. A source close to the film told us, “After the huge success of Mission Mangal, many producers wanted to work with Jagan but they had promised to do a film with Akshay again. After this, he underwent surgery last year, due to which the film got delayed.

Akshay had agreed to make Mission Lion under his home production and got producers like Vashu and Jackky Bhagnani to invest in it.” The source further told us that Akshay offered Jagan a fee of Rs 4 crore to direct Mission Lion, which was later approved by Vashu Bhagnani as well.

Akshay’s fee is Rs 135 crore

The source further added, “The film is currently in the pre-production stage and the official announcement of the film will be out in a few days. It’s a mega-budget film.” It is being said that Akshay is also getting a hefty fee for this film. Despite being a production partner, his upfront acting fee is Rs 135 crore, the major part of which will be adjusted from the sale of satellite, digital and music rights.

There is no loss for the manufacturer to pay hefty fees to Akshay as Akshay’s business model is based on low risk and high revenue model with controlled cost i.e. low risk, high profit.
