Salman Khan’s Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai’s theatrical to release on Eid on May 13 and the tussle started on OTT release

Fulfilling his commitment, Salman Khan has finally announced the release of his much awaited film Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai in theaters during Eid. There is no greater joy than this for the cine-lovers who are fond of watching Salman Khan’s films on Eid. Salman Khan’s Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai directed by Prabhu Deva is all set to hit the theaters on Eid i.e. 13th May 2021.

Salman Khan’s Radhe to release on Eid

While people are excited to see Salman’s film Radhe in theatres, it is being said that within a month of its theatrical release, Radhe will also be digitally released on its streaming partner, Gplex. There is a tussle going on between theater owners and streaming partner Gplex over this. According to theater owners, there should be enough gap between theatrical and OTT release of such a big film.

It is worth noting that before the Corona epidemic, all the films were released on the digital platform only about 8 weeks after their release in theatres. But the Corona pandemic has changed a lot. Now most of the filmmakers are demanding the digital release of their film at the earliest. That is, now the filmmakers are not in a mood to wait for 8 weeks for the digital release. But multiplex owners are not in favor of it as it affects their theater business.

There must be a gap of at least 4 weeks

If sources are to be believed, the Multiplex Association of India wants that there should be a gap of at least 4 weeks between Radhe’s theatrical and OTT release. While Radhe’s streaming partner Gplex wants to keep the gap between theatrical and OTT releases to a minimum.

Zee Studios CBO Sharik Patel also told us a few days back, “We are planning to release Radhe on Zeeplex already. We will also digitally release Radhe within a month of its theatrical release on 13th May.”

But, releasing a big film like Radhe digitally within a month is making theater owners uneasy. So now the OTT release of Radhe is stuck in confusion. When we again contacted Sharik Patel about this, he said that the decision on this is yet to come.

Radhe also stars Disha Patani, Randeep Hooda and Jackie Shroff in lead roles along with Salman. The film is presented by Salman Khan Films in association with Zee Studios, produced by Salma Khan, Sohail Khan and Reel Life Production Pvt Ltd. The film will be released on May 13, 2021, on the occasion of Eid.
