Filmmaker Priyadarshan, who has given many great films to the film industry, regrets one thing in his career spanning 40 years. Regarding this, Priyadarshan said, “I could never work with writer MT Vasudevan Nair. Not only this, I have never been able to work with Amitabh Bachchan. Many times we came very close to working together but then those projects never came into existence.”
Priyadarshan wants to work with Amitabh Bachchan
The veteran director revealed that he wants to make a Hindi remake of one of his recent Malayalam hits. “Yes, I want to remake my 2016 hit film Oppam with Mohanlal. Wanted to see Amitabh Bachchan as the lead hero in this film, who is blind. But he has already done a film on the subject. So now I am looking for a script in which we both work together.”
Priyadarshan further added that, he has always considered Amitabh as his inspiration. “After more than 40 years of filmmaking, I sometimes feel that it is time for me to just retire. But then when I see Amitabh ji who despite being 76 years old works continuously for 18 hours a day despite doctors having advised him to take rest now, I feel full of energy.”
