Mahesh Manjrekar’s Marathi film Nay Varnabhat Loncha Kon Nay Koncha released in theaters on January 14. The film had an objectionable bold scene of Bollywood actress Kashmera Shah which was removed after the National Commission for Women (NCW) protested. The Indian woman power had strongly opposed this scene, after which the makers had to remove this scene from the film.
Bold scene of Kashmira Shah
Just a day before the release of Nay Varnabhat Loncha Kon Nay Koncha, the makers removed this scene from the film. A close source told Bollywood Hungama, “On Thursday, the makers dropped some scenes from the film. The trailer shows Kashmera Shah pulling child artist Prem Dharmadhikari towards her. The scene was omitted from the final cut of the film. Apart from this, one or two solar scenes have also been cut. The trailer was also removed following NCB’s objection.”
Meanwhile, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) last week cleared the film with an ‘A’ certificate. The source said, “Around 9 cuts and modifications were done in the film on the instructions of CBFC. A 12-second long scene featuring nudity was removed, while some intimate scenes were shortened. 50% of the derogatory words like b********d, m********d, etc. were replaced with mild abusive words.”
