Fatima Sana Shaikh has been a popular child artist and has also made her mark with the 2016 release Dangal. Fatima Sana Shaikh said that she doesn’t shy away from approaching filmmakers she wants to work with, the actress never mind reaching out to people over texts and calls.
Fatima Sana Shaikh reminds herself
In an interview with a leading publication, the actress shared, “I do this to remind people that I exist. I don’t do a lot of films, so I’m not always there. Sometimes people forget in casting that she is also an actress. It is very important to be reminded. Unless you fight for your place and your position, no one else will. If I have to call someone to remind me that I am and I don’t mind auditioning, that’s right. There’s nothing wrong with that.”
She further added, “I know of many such artists who have achieved a lot in their life by doing so. I like to create opportunities for myself and just sit at home and wonder why I don’t have work. You have to work hard and ask for work.”
Recently on a success spree, the actress, in the last six months has been able to entertain people with Ludo, Sooraj Pe Mangal Bhari and Anthology Funny tales for which she feels excited. She shares, “I am glad that people are getting to see my work. After all, you work to entertain people. There is a pandemic, things are closed, and nothing can be more gratifying than that people can see my work that I shot before the pandemic. I love that we have OTT platforms that are airing those films which are not releasing in theatres. Now we have a new medium to connect with the audience.”
His latest release, Aazheed Tales was well received by the audience and his performance was praised by critics alike, “Many across the industry appreciate your work which gives you recognition and hope. But, audience reaction also matters, he is the king and if he doesn’t like your work, your game is over.” Fatima shared.
Before the lockdown, in early 2021, Fatima was shooting for an upcoming project with Anil Kapoor, about which she says, “She is the life of the set and an incredible person. Always upbeat and passionate.” Fatima revealed that she is referring to Anil Kapoor. She also added, “When I sign films, it is more about instinct. My driving force isn’t always a big project and it’s the big actor in this film, and that’s why I had to do it. What inspires me is a good script and a good director.”
