Farhan Akhtar paid a hefty amount for the Hindi remake of KGF 2

Farhan Akhtar’s Excel paid a fixed and limited amount for its Hindi version before the release of KGF. But this is not the case with Hindi rights of KGF 2. Sources say, the makers of KGF made more money after its release than what they had invested in this regional film. So he increased the amount for the Hindi version of KGF 2. As a result, the Hindi rights of KGF 2 have been sold to Excel Entertainment for a huge amount.

A source close to the film told us, “When KGF was made, we didn’t even think of a Hindi version. The decision was taken at the very last minute, so the Hindi rights were sold to Excel Entertainment at a very low price. But now things have changed a lot. The budget for KGF 2 is at least 7 times more than the original. So, of course, Excel had to pay a higher amount for the sequel.”
