Bollywood actor Bobby Deol’s debut film Barsaat has completed 25 years of its release this year. Bobby Deol and Twinkle Khanna were seen opposite each other in this film. Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, the film was produced by Dharmendra and Sunny Deol. On the completion of 25 years of Barsaat, Bobby Deol had an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Hungama in which he shared some memories related to the shooting of Barsaat. Along with this, Bobby also shared bonding with his elder brother Sunny Deol.
Sunny Deol became the support of Bobby Deol
Recalling the action scene of Barsaat during the interview, Bobby said, “At that time when films were made, it used to be that if Dharmendra has a son, then he should have action and romance and dance in the film. Meaning that at that time a showcase of Star Kid’s talent was made. My father is known for Tiger fights and he has done this many times in his films. In Barsaat, I played a hill boy and we were shooting in Mudumalai. In those days, they did not pay much attention to the atrocities on animals. So when we were shooting for Tiger Fight, when he brought the lion in front of me, that lion’s mouth was stitched.
I knew my brother would take good care of me
We were all upset seeing the condition of the lion that how can anyone do such a thing. Then after this my brother Sunny Deol said that we will not do this. We will shoot this scene in Italy. Where there is a man who has his own zoo and in Hollywood movies animals from his own zoo are used. Then we fought with Italy Zucker Tiger. It was a little difficult for me but then I did it. After that Bhaiya thought that when he has come here, he goes to England and makes Bobby’s shots bigger.
My first shot in the rain is actually my last shot. I broke my leg while shooting with a horse here. At that time my brother became my biggest support. I knew my leg was broken but I also knew that my brother would take good care of me. My brother took me to the hospital where the doctors said that they could not save my leg. But then my brother took me in a private plane to London where I got surgery done. Even today there is a road in my foot with a screw.
