The trailer of Sine starring Parineeti Chopra has doubled the excitement of watching the film. Parineeti Chopra will be seen in the role of badminton player Saina Nehwal in Saina, releasing in cinemas on March 26. But Parineeti was not the first choice for this film but Shraddha Kapoor was. Shraddha Kapoor also worked hard for Saina but due to some reason she had to leave the film. After this the question remained in everyone’s mind that after all what happened that Shraddha Kapoor had to leave a sports film like Saina. In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Hungama, director Amol Gupte has finally revealed why Shraddha Kapoor had to leave Saina.
Shraddha Kapoor had left Saina
During the interview, Amol Gupte was asked that, it has taken 5 years for you to make the film, during this time the actresses have also changed. Now that you have Parineeti as Saina, how do you deal with all this when the cast changes. So in response he said, “It was not that difficult. People must have thought that there must have been a difference of opinion so Shraddha left Saina, but it is not so. Shraddha did a lot of hard work for the film. His preparation was very good. So we also started shooting with Shraddha. Shraddha had become quite an athlete. She had practiced a lot to become Saina and did a great job.”
“But then he got dengue, due to which all his power was exhausted. She was in bed for a month. Although she had also said that I am trying, what if I come after ten, I try but do not promise. We were also waiting for Shraddha to recover, so our set was also standing. We also waited for him.”
health did not cooperate
“But after a while he said that he has developed a lot of weakness. If there was a drama film, Ek Baar Ko would have run but for a sporty film like Saina, she needed to be strong. It is necessary to have power to play badminton for 12 hours at a time. So me and my wife Deepa Bhatia, who is the reason for this film and she is my senior partner, decided to let Shraddha do her second film, Chhichhore as she could not stand for Saina for long.”
“When Chhichhore was over, later my producer Mr. Bhushan Kumar told me that he has another film in the making, Street Dancer, where a problem has come and I need a heroine. Then I said okay then let Shraddha go for Street Dancer. And with that he brought Parineeti to sign my film. After that everyone was happy, Parineeti, Shraddha, Bhushan Kumar, me and Deepa we were all happy. At least the result of the wait was that the film was not closed.
