The corona pandemic has put a brake on the pace of the film industry. Theaters are closed due to Corona infection, in such a situation, filmmakers are either resorting to OTT platforms to release their films or are postponing the release. Recently Disney Plus Hotstar made an official announcement to release 7 Bollywood films on its platform which also included Ajay Devgn’s period drama Bhuj – The Pride of India. Although Ajay’s fans wanted to see his film in theatres. And now Ajay Devgn has announced the release date of his yet another upcoming sports drama Maidan.
Ajay Devgan announces new release date
Ajay took to social media today to reveal the new release date of his upcoming football based film Maidan which is 13th August 2020 and also revealed that the film will be releasing in theatres. Describing the release date of Maidan, Ajay wrote, “2021 – the week of Independence Day. An unheard story that will make every Indian feel proud. Mark it on 13th August.

Let us tell you that earlier Maidaan was scheduled to release in November this year. But the release of the film was postponed due to Corona virus.
Coming to Maidan, the film directed by Amit Sharma is a true story based on the golden years of Indian football. Ajay will be seen in the role of a football coach Saeed Abdul Rahim in this film. Legendary coach Syed Abdul Rahim is known as the founding father of Indian football. Rahim was the manager of the Indian national football team from 1950 to 1963 (until his death). He is considered the architect of modern Indian football. The film also stars National Award winning actress Priyamani, Gajraj Rao and Bengali actor Rudranil Ghosh. The screenplay of this film is written by Saivin Quadras and dialogues by Ritesh Shah.
