Sony Entertainment Television’s show Punyashlok Ahilyabai is an inspiring saga of Ahilyabai Holkar, who in the 18th century challenged the orthodox norms of society and broke the boundaries of gender discrimination and heralded a new era of women empowerment with the help of her father-in-law Malhar Rao Holkar. The interesting thing is that being a mother is one thing in common with my character and that helped me understand my character better. Though she is a caring mother, Gautamabai does not lack foresight. They always have a feeling that for the betterment of their child they will have to take some tough decisions which may not seem favorable at that moment. So I understand many things about his personality and in some cases I can connect with his selfless love for my child.”
