Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap’s daughter Alia Kashyap is in the news these days. Alia, who has been sharing her bold photos on social media, recently revealed that she is being trolled fiercely on social media due to her bold photos, due to which she is quite nervous. But Alia Kashyap’s fear increased when she started receiving rape threats due to her boldness. Alia is very scared after reading the comments coming on her photos and she has also mentioned this in her social media post.
Alia Kashyap expresses her fear
Alia shared the post on her Instagram and wrote, “The last few weeks are really taking a toll on my mental health. Ever since I shared my picture post in Under Garments, I have been getting a lot of dirty comments. I haven’t felt more intimidated over the past few weeks than I thought about deleting my Instagram account. I tried to ignore my exploitation but the truth is that it needs to be spoken about as such comments promote rape culture. Which in a way affects all women in India and the rest of the world. We think there is a country that will candle march for a woman after sexual abuse but will not protect a woman when she is alive. And the truth is that women in India grow up facing sexual abuse throughout their lives. When I was a minor, a middle-aged man sexually assaulted me. People with double standards exploited me and many other women. They pretend that they are taking morality to the heights but in reality they are promoting rape culture.”
Alia further wrote, “These are some people of the same mentality who follow me, see my photos and then surprise me. If people disagree with what I post, they are free to unfollow me. None of my posts are an invitation for anyone to sexually harass me. This is my body, this is my life. I will decide what to do with it.”
